How to counter Surge in Brawl Stars

Surge is a Damage Dealer brawler.

Surge's kit

Damage Dealer whose main attack, Juice of Justice, splits into two smaller shots when it hits an enemy. His Super, Party Tricks, upgrades him up to three times: stage 1 adds movement speed, stage 2 adds range and stage 3 splits each shot into six. All upgrades are lost when he is defeated. With the Star Power Serve Ice Cold he spawns with a full Super.

Surge's hardest matchups

Ash TankA tank with lots of health whose Rage meter fills as he deals and takes damage, so trading shots with Surge only makes him faster and stronger.

Ollie TankA sturdy brawler with a gap-closing Super. He reaches Surge before the range upgrade and forces the close fights an unupgraded Surge struggles in.

Shelly Damage DealerHer shotgun deals huge burst up close and her Super knocks enemies back. She punishes Surge around bushes and corners, where his base range is short.

Nita Damage DealerHer Bear soaks Surge's shots and pressures him from a second angle, which makes it hard for him to charge his Super safely.

Jacky TankHigh health and an area attack that hits through walls, and her Super pulls enemies in, so Surge cannot keep his distance.

Key tip: Focus Surge before he reaches stage 2 or 3: every defeat resets his upgrades. Once he is fully upgraded, avoid standing close to teammates, because his split shots hit several targets.
